Review: Adam's Piano Bar 1
[Note from Adam: Every so often, on Twitter, I announce that I’m opening up a Twitter Piano Bar and provide a link to a live video feed and chat so Twitter followers can request songs that they like. This usually happens spontaneously and those who happen to be on Twitter at that moment can come along for the ride. This post comes from one such person: I promise I didn’t pay him.]
The Scene: Warm olive green walls, bright sunlight, and Adam in his signature plaid shirt. A beautiful evening, as a crowd of Amateur Gourmet followers gather in a chat room (along with Adam’s cat lounging on the bed).

The Draw-
Originally known for his always hilarious, informative food blog, Adam Roberts is more than a passionate home-cook turned food writer. Adam’s gifted piano playing is inspiring, and he has the uncanny talent to listen to a song and then be able to play it on the piano (no sheet music necessary). Adam Roberts’s Piano Bar has expansive sets that comprise of almost everything popular, from Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, and Journey to piano classics from The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, and Billy Joel. A diverse repertoire draws a myriad of characters to the room. Between songs, Adam converses with the crowd and answers hard hitting questions like “what are you cooking for dinner tonight?” and “what ever happened to the Amateur Gourmet interns?”. Although no drinks were consumed, I believe the half-price happy-hour drink-deal was the ‘Meyer lemon’ drop.
The Verdict-
This was a delightful evening at Adam Roberts’s Piano Bar. I will be returning as soon as possible, bringing along as many friends as possible. I recommend all Amateur Gourmet followers to join next time (start thinking of your requests now!).
