Perbacco, Scarpetta, & Dirt Candy

Somehow, in the past two weeks, I’ve eaten at three new and relevant New York restaurants. Instead of typing up three separate restaurant posts, I decided to make a video summarizing all three meals. The only thing I think I got wrong is the price of the spaghetti and tomato sauce at Scarpetta; it’s $24, not $26.

lol, adam… love your site, love what you said (and photos!) in your video… but haha… it felt a little like a really exciting conversation where the person you are talking to needs to catch the bus in 2 minutes but just HAS to tell you all the awesomeness. ;). made me chuckle, though! thank you as always!

Like the video! And I love perbacco–but it’s not new! It’s been around for a few years at least. Is there a new menu or something? i feel like it’s getting lots of press lately. And deservedly so.

perbacco is not a new restaurant. they just have a new chef. Many, many restaurant cook without gas. you should look into it. The old tasting room, freemans used to, cafe gitane, little giant..etc

Great review video! I agree with Karen–your pace was perfect for me: description, your opinion, additional comments, next….Besides, it gave us a little insight into your personality. Be yourself–it’s hilarious.

Just out of curiosity, is Dirt Candy is Prix Fixe menu or are there actually prices on anything. Would a normal hungry adult be able to have one first, one second, and dissert and be good to go? I’d like to take my hubbs there for a night out but like to know what I’m getting into. Thanks~!

Breathe, Adam, breathe! Is there a time limit on videos you can attach to your blog? Good reviews almost made me want to come to New York City. I was particularly intrigued by Dirt Candy. I was especially interested in your comment that one of the dishes wasn’t any better than you make at home. Increasingly I find that I can make better and more interesting food at home (at a much lower cost) where I can actually have a conversation with someone without wondering when the folks at the next table will interject themselves into the conversation.

Great vid… very professional, and I, for one, like that you kept the pace up… any slower and I’d probably have clicked out. Who, me… inpatient? LOL

I generally don’t like restaurant reviews as much as I like posts about cooking. I also don’t often take out my headphones to watch videos online. So this was a post I would have normally skipped over.BUT – it totally intrigued me!I think you did a great job talking about each restaurant, keeping it quick and showing the food. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to try our all 3 places. Nice job, keep them coming!
