Lists like these are always arbitrary, though the arbitrary nature of it can still be revealing. Clearly, from this list, I prefer rustic, “real” food to finer, fancier fare. But maybe you knew that already.

Believe it or not, there’s a little Portuguese restaurant in Fall River, MA that serves calamari just like this. It’s their Wednesday special and it’s out of this world.
Yesterday, I had eggplant in the house and used your roasted eggplant spread recipe. Today I have squid…. Your posts always pop up at the right time!

I went to both of those markets in barcelona and my dreams are still haunted by the mixed wild mushrooms a la plancha with thick toast from bar pinxto in la boqueria…..
