Candy Heart Banner

A round of applause, please, to my followers on Twitter who wrote most of the text for the candy hearts in this month’s banner–brilliantly illustrated, as usual, by Lindy. (Can’t see the banner? Clear your cache and re-load the site.) A special shout-out to my friend Katy who contributed THOUSANDS of ideas and to Amanda Hesser who came up with “You Had Me At Jello.” Make sure to subscribe to my Twitter feed (just go to www.twitter.com/amateurgourmet) and maybe you’ll see your ideas in next month’s banner.

And special thanks, as usual, to Leah & Justin for doing all the dirty technical work to make this banner possible. The A.G. Team is the best.

  1. Haha, I was going to say the same thing as Adrienne! That’s the one candy heart I love the most out of the bunch! Great job on the new banner, very well done.

  2. I wonder what Ann Coulter would think if she knew her ads were being shown at the bottom of a site that has “GR8 MELONS” and “BUTTER ME UP” in the banner… ;D

  4. I love it!

That reminds me, it’s about that time of year for Random Candy Heart Beatnik Poetry readings!

  5. Hooray! As the one who suggested “Kiss My Grits,” let me say how honored I am to see myself on the banner. The rest of these are really funny, too. “GR8 Melons” made me laugh out loud, which I guess means I’m a second grader.

  6. Hey Mark, Mark, it was ME who thought of GR8 Melons! Meet you for a game of four square at recess today?
