  1. I’m so upset by last night’s episode! The elimination decision was made purely to keep the “crazy character” for dramatic tv purposes, not based on talent, and it’s so unfair. The eliminated garment only looked bad on that particular model! The other dress looked like a walking trash magnet, actually, minus the walking part obviously since his model couldn’t move in it. I can’t deal with this, I just hope she gets hired by someone who appreciates her talent, or gets funded and starts her own line. Ugh.

  2. This season was going so well, but I just cannot figure out how they have justified keeping Vincent on the show last night. Alison was a great designer, not to mention unfailingly optimistic, and I was very sad to see her go.

P.S. Was anyone else offended that Heidi kept calling her poor model “fat”?

  3. I feel your pain, Adam.

Liz: I didn’t think she called the model fat, I think she said that Alison’s dress and styling choice turned the model into a Fat Minnie Mouse. Which made me laugh. So maybe I’m just a bad person.

  4. YES, omg, SO offended! by Heidi! and by the fact that they kept that loony bin talentless joker… I can design better dresses than he can! and if that model’s fat, then well, i just better go cry into a bowl of sugar puffs!

sad, so so so so very sad… it was all going so well… they’ve lost all credibility (but, then again, how funny was tim in the recycling center gear?!?!)

  5. I turned to my husband (who was trying to sleep) in awe and read him the disclaimer at the end about the judges making decisions with input from producers – in other words it has to make good tv. Alison was great and Vincent is always on the chopping block! Could he really be this way or is he messing with everyone?

  7. I was shocked and stunned. Clearly, as they spent so much time in the back room after the decision, this was not a popular decision amongst the other contestants. Vincent is a marked man now (although Laura was scaring me with her sternum and hangy boob). I wish there was also an overall points score that would make it impossible for this sort of one-off slip-up to ruin a designer.

  8. I was sooo pissed last night! Allison is absolutely adorable, and I actually loved all of her other designs. One mistake and she’s gone? I guess nice girls finish last too. But, I feel better today because I love Michael! Although, Jeffrey’s was better last night. Vincent has to be out next week.

On a food related note, your pie crusts are looking perfectly dreamy Adam!

  10. I know! I wish they had axed Vincent just so that I would never have to hear him say “it gets me off” ever again. That and the dude needs to button his shirts.

I thought Allison’s dress was cute even if her model’s hair style was…well, awful. And as much as I love Tim Gunn, I am currently quite cross with him for calling the model “plus-sized” on his “Tim’s Take” section of Bravo’s site.

  11. I’m raging furious as well. Vincent has been CONSISTSENTLY bad, and poor Allison gets punished for what the judges consider to be one mistake. The nitwit Bravo network executive who has his own blog on their website claims that he two was upset by the decision and if it were up to him Vincent would have been gone in the first episode. The reeks of producer (and probably executive) manipulation. I love the show, but it’s losing it’s credibility.

  13. This is actually a good discussion topic for a food blog. Calling Allison’s model overweight reinforces the distressing societal stereotype of people needing to be frightfully thin to be considered beautiful. At the same time, our population is getting progressively fatter due to 1) a corporate controlled food industry providing cheap convenience at the expense of health 2) our desire to sit on the couch and watch reality TV instead of going out and exercising. (This is not an attack… I’m just as guilty).

  14. I AGREE with all of you- they have to keep the looney tune for the sake of entertainment. I was releieved that they didn’t let Kayne go but they should have kept Alison for the same reason that they let Kayne stay- THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE CLOTHES!!! If the past challenges weigh on the current week’s decision, there was NO GOOD REASON they should have let Alison go. And yes- Heidi saying that the model looked “like a plus sized model” was one of the most ridiculous things, ever.

SO PISSED!!! Vincent needs to go.

  15. one word (cue Kevin Kline): DisaPPOINTED! I can’t believe it — ditto the above comments re: keeping the crazy for good tv. Then again, I think Alison, with the exposure from the show, is probably off to a good start. But boo to Vincent. Boo. For a great weekly recap, check this site out on Mondays: http://fourfour.typepad.com/fourfour/

  16. Vincent is obviously connon fodder and he is going. Same as the blond. Obviously they kept Kanye based on his past work. Bigger travesty was the winner. The plastic made the model look like someone stuck out in the rain who grabbed some plastic to keep dry. Then you had the ice queens dress that looked like a wrapped Christmas gift from Bloomies. The winner should have been the one I hate the most: Tattoo neck. Only dress that didnt look like trash and had color.

  17. For all the ignoramuses, simply google “project runway” to learn what we’re talking about. It’s a reality tv show on the bravo network hosted by heidi klum with michael kors as one of the judges. We’re sad/mad someone got voted of.

I also believe that Alison shouldn’t have been eliminated and that this was a horribly poor decision. Alison did make an ugly mistake, but Vincent is always horrible. I actually don’t think the producers wanted to get rid of him though, i think that actually, Alison’s dress was fundamentally not as attractive as Vincent’s.

The reason why I don’t think that the producers wanted to get rid of Alison is that she was the only real eye candy on the show. She had a big picture in some recent tabloid whereas everyone else got small little inserts. The producers must be sensitive to that.

What a shame, at any rate. She was great.

  18. i have no idea what y’all are talking about – and i have to say, i think ignorance is bliss in this case. of course, i have my own guilty TV pleasures, but this show is not one of them. anyway, carry on!

  19. yo, Adam. This is Craig’s friend Rena in Seattle. You are so, so right on this. As Tracy Flick would say, what happened was a travesty.

  20. Wait, earlier poster (smugly) says s/he doesn’t watch Project Runway, then ends post with “carry on”???

  21. Completely absurd result. Especially since Robert had two weeks of being in the final two and escaped on the strength of his past displays of talent. Alison has one (albeit really dreadful) appearance and gets Aufed for the sake of keeping the crazy around.

And much as I do love Michael, I have to agree that Jeffrey’s dress was better.

  22. BNA basically said what I was going to say…even though I really, really hate Jeffrey, he did deserve to win. I love Michael, he’s my favorite (ATL represent!), but the dress was just not as good as Jeffrey’s, and the plastic sash was awful.

I think the producer manipulation has been much more blatant this season than in previous ones, or maybe we just have been around the block more now and can spot it better. I was so mad on Wednesday that I wrote an angry e-mail to Bravo!

(Big producer manipulation example, IMO: Bradley’s outfit for the doggie design eposide. It was so last-minute and ugly, but the judges ATE IT UP, went on and on about the “silhouette,” which, to me, looked like ass. That seemed so fake to me, they just didn’t want to kick him off on his birthday. And then they give Keith a hard time about his dog collar, even though that’s all Bradley did too! Thankfully, he was even worse on the Cher outfit, and he had to go.)

  23. I read a recent interview with Alison. Her “plus size” model wears a size 8 or 10, according to her, and she was dismayed when the model selected Alison as her designer because of the weight “issue.” Geesh — same size as me (8 dress and shoe), and I think I look okay (I run in between bouts of reality television, and I only read about cooking.) But sadly, in the fashion world, especially for models, I think a much smaller size is the industry standard. Remember that bit in The Devil Wears Prada where Meryl Streep/Anna Wintour talks about how she went with the smart, “fat” girl?

  24. This season is ok, but last season was hilarious. They sometimes play marthons of project runway, and you gotta watch the last season. They have the funniest and weirdest characters-Santino is the best, he does the funniest impression of Tim Gunn. I loved this season so much that I actually went and bought the dvd, which I never do. So when you get a chance def watch a few episodes, youll love it!

  25. Sadly, Vincent isn’t even very entertaining to watch IMHO. Yes he’s a kook, but after the 2nd show, I was so over watching him, let alone his hideous creations. If he doens’t go next, I will be furious!!
