Class Attendance, Take Three

So, I’ll confess, lots of stuff going on here and very little for the site. As I work up some content, perhaps this is a good time to stop and check (as I do every so often) on who it is that regularly reads my gustatory shenanigans. One observation that I’ve made is that you’re almost all women. Is it my animal magnetism or my bright red sweater? You can be honest. Here, let’s make a little survey fill-out form (answer as much as you’d like; this one’s a bit longer):

Which chef would you bring to a desert island: Shit.. it’s a toss-up between Jacques Pepin and Nigella Lawson. Jacques, because he could probably take sand and make it taste good, and Nigella, because she would provide the best conversation (and, if worst comes to worst, i could easily become a lesbian and get down)

Which chef would you bring to a desert island: One of the Iron Chefs…they’re pretty good at taking a completely obscure ingredient and making it look pretty tasty (I figure the island will be full of obscure possiblities).

Which dessert would you bring to a dessert island: The chocolate banana cream pie from True Confections

Favorite Cookbook: not a fan of recipes or following directions

Food Project You’d Like Me To Undertake:I agree with Emily. I would like to see you make gnocchi. Last Christmas my 90 year old Italian aunty passed away and took her amazing recipe for gnocchi as well as the recipe for her fried garlic meat balls with her. My taste buds are still hurt and somewhat confused…and now, feeling very deprived.

P.S. Your Blog rocks AG. When I’m at work (like right now) I try to be very sneaky and minimize the screen so that no one can see that I’m slacking off, however, I think my laughing outbursts might be giving me away. Thanks for making my work day go a bit faster!

Which chef would you bring to a desert island: At first I thought, “Who better than Andrea, Gourmet Survivor 2004?” Then I thought, “Well, that’d half to be the iron chefs. (sorry Andrea)” But then I thought, “But they’re nothing without Kitchen Stadium.” So I needed someone who either didn’t need a kitchen or could make one. Who’s that? MacGyver. Case closed.

Which dessert would you bring to a dessert island: Couldn’t I just eat the island then? Maybe a dessert wine, if I had to bring something. Need to drink, right?

Favorite Cookbook: Don’t use them. I find random recipes and mess with them to see what works and what doesn’t.
