4 Alternatives for Peanut Butter

4 Alternatives for Peanut Butter 1
While I love peanut butter, I’m not an eat-it-from-the-jar-in-gobs kind of person. If you keep an open mind, there are plenty of other toast-worthy spreads that can be just as great as classic PB. Next time you head out to grab a jar of peanut butter, try one of these alternatives, instead; your morning toast will thank you.
Nutella: If you’ve never heard of this Italian wonder-spread, let me introduce you to the greatest thing that’s happened to sliced bread since, well, it was sliced. Hazelnuts and other natural ingredients are blended into a creamy blend that Ferraro can be glad to call its own. Pair it with toast, apple slices, strawberries, or just about any pastry on earth.

New England Bites Presents: Clam Shacks 1
THEY’RE OPEN! Hey all you New Yorkers ! I see you starting to sneak up here . I hear you planning your vacations to CAPE COD ….to NEWPORT ….to MAINE ‘s beautiful seaports . And I know you will be visiting all my favorite clam shacks …..eating up my lobster rolls ….my fried clams ….my fish & chips . HOW CAN I STOP YOU ???? I can’t ! So I’ll help you . I’ll tell you where to find some of my favorite clam shacks and also some nice indoor seafood restaurants …you know …for when you’re done with the beach , washed off the sand and finally put some clothes on . I won’t go into too much detail about the menus ….because they’re all basically the same . The clam shacks have the requisite fried clam plates ( bellies or strips ) , fish&chips , clam cakes ( or fritters – for those living elseware ) , calamari , chowders ( creamy or clear ) and of course lobster rolls ( hot& buttered ….or cold with mayo ) both in a hot dog bun . And for the sit-in restaurants… they have all manner of steaks , chops and pastas but they specialize in fine seafood dinners . Bet you can’t wait to get here ! So here goes …..hope you get to visit some of these places this summer …you won’t be sorry. ENJOY!

Unusual, Invincible Ingredients Everyone Should Love 1
Are you a chef of a 5-star-resturaunt? A Food Network culinary hit? Perhaps not, but even if your just a novice cook, you can still turn your dining fare from wimp to WOW with simple ingredients nearly everyone passes by in the store.
Sure, you could suffice for the ordinary. You know, make food that tastes like everyone else’s.
But why let your diners suffer in mere meritocracy when all that separates you from incredible food is a few out-of-the ordinary ingredients that, once you try, will be the ingredients you can’t live without?
Kosher Salt (Pic: Aaron Schmidt)
I was a hard-core fan of plain-jane salt for a number of years; after all, what good American home cook doesn’t use regular salt? However, while you may be tempted to stick to plain iodized salt, you’d be missing out on a lot of flavor. Kosher salt is an extremely versatile seasoning that is way more than salt, which is what makes it the top pick for chefs on steamed veggies, baked potatoes, garnishes, popcorn, baked goods, and even chocolates. There’s hardly any food out there not worthy of a little kosher salt, but I may as well stop here; only the taste, itself, can convince you of that.

Sadie Hawkins-Inspired Grocery Shopping 1
Old habits die hard. When I go grocery shopping, 9 times out of 10, I am franticly walking around the store, my jenky, barely legible ingredient list in hand, seeking obscure ingredients I can’t pronounce in the hopes of later that evening achieving culinary nirvana. My seemingly innocuous recipe morphs into a grocery shopping DICTATOR!!!
