BOURDAIN
March 24, 2008 | By Adam Roberts | 12 CommentsI fought the good fight, readers, and finally my interview with Anthony Bourdain is live and online. See him and a 14-year old Network Fanatic in this week’s FN Dish (click here) and then watch the extended interview with him here. (Or just type in fndish.com–and make sure to bookmark it!)

Is he bombed? Sounds like he is slurring some words… funny interview though, and I agree Ina’s friends are creepy but I do love to watch her show.
Just curious what the bleeped out sentences were….
And yes, Bourdain seemed bombed out of his mind and Ina’s friends freak me out :)
Love it–you have a really endearing presence on camera.
Also… where WERE you? Will we get a post about hanging out in the kitchen with what looked like a killer lineup of chefs? Did you feel like the kid in Almost Famous?
He is soo drunk… that’s what I like about him :-)
What was wrong with my comment?
He is completely out-of-his-mind drunk; I love that you took advantage of Bourdain at his most vulernable!
I’m happy he gave props to Ina. She is my favorite as well. If you can get Tony to her house for dinner and Bridge with all her gay buddies, the footage you’d get would be utterly priceless. Maybe lure him by pointing out that she makes great cocktails?
Oh hell yeah!!
I’m just getting a blank screen on all three links, alas. I’d really like to see it. But based on the above comments, I don’t think it’s at all cute or funny that he turned up drunk for the interview.

whimsy2, he didn’t “turn up drunk” for an interview; the interview was impromptu and on location.
I wish I could read lips so I could figure out the bleeps. Thanks for fighting to have it aired at all, Adam.
PS – I know you’re new at the interview thing, so here’s a tip. Don’t wave the microphone around. It’s distracting. Other than that, bravo. Way to elicit comments by asking open-ended questions – the hallmark of a good interviewer.
Extended interview…gone. All reference to Bourdain on the new (fall 2008) Food Network website…gone. Except exactly one: “Anthony Bourdain’s Rant”.
