You are all too funny! (But is that really Rachael Ray? I can't tell. I think I need new glasses.) Suffice it to say I'll be tuning in on Monday to find out. My curiosity is officially piqued!
Is there any way for those of us who lack TVs (like, say, an Australian college student studying in the US who couldn't justify buying one for just a year) to get to watch this? Please say yes!
Oh Gawd...et tu, Brute? Adam, don't tell me you have fallen into this woman's "dump-loads-of-olive-oil-and-cheese-and-fat-and-call -it-cuisine" clutches?
Your credibility will take a nosedive as far as I am concerned in terms of food credibility if you enable her in any more of her shilling for ridiculously overpriced olive oil/knives, etc.
But for the moment I will set aside my intense dislike of the aforementioned person and give you my sincerest congratulations-- how fun for you! AG is hitting daytime!
Don't listen to them, Adam. They probably turn their nose up at any chocolate under 70% cacao. But I like milk chocolate and I've respected Rachael Ray ever since reading about her story in one of Ruhlman's books.
Rachael Ray, was working at that grocery store doing her 30 minutes meals just a few years back. Now she has been touched by the Oprah gold finger.
Good Luck! http://hotcookies.net
Blowing it up a bit, I'm now in the camp of it not being The Rachel. The conclusion jumping certainly gives a visceral insight into how we view her. Bleh...
It looks like Eva Longoria to me!! (But R.R. makes more sense and I can totally see her jiving with you and your personality.) Either way, it's clearly something BIG!
Umm, sorry to burst your bubble, Lydia, but I have no problem with eating chocolate with less than 70% cacao (I even really like white chocolate, how about that?).
I think some of us who who find R.R.'s cooking gross and appalling are not food snobs at all...some of us actually grew up with good home cooking, and parents who could cook good, reasonably priced meals in a short amount of time and actually make them nutritious at the same time (unlike too many of her dishes that have unnecessary fats dumped in, along with bizarre food combinations that she promotes). And their cooking was neither complicated nor pretentious, and not that difficult to learn either.
But hey, if you find her hot dog casseroles and hamburger salads appealing, well, good for you, each to his or her own tastes...just don't rag on people who point out the shortcomings they find in a number of her recipes and methods of food preparation.
Adam, that's fabulous. Whatever anyone else may think of RR, you take your breaks where you can get them -- and you've earned this, you've worked hard.
Whether or not I go on perkiness overload every time I see RR's face on her magazine at the checkout line (and I do, I do), that's not important. No, I don't watch her. But like most cooks, she has recipes I hate, and recipes I like. She's not Sandra Lee by any means, because for the most part, she's actually encouraging people to make real food with fresh ingredients, something I always support.
It's a bit like the way I feel about Oprah. Lots of people trash her unmercifully. Now, I may not want to watch her (and I don't), but it's worth remembering that she's probably done more to promote family literacy in this country than anyone else. Same with RR -- if she gets a quorum of people making and eating real food instead of takeout or pre-made slop, she's doing a service.
Lol. I think i know whats going on. Maybe not! Well i don't think thats Ray. If it is Ray i may never read your blog again...like i can stay away now that im hooked! love this blog Adam and im glad to see things are working out! ill be watching all day tomorrow waiting for your next post!
Many of us are fortunate enough to have had parents who prepared nutritious and delicious meals throughout our childhood and sat down to eat, most nights, surrounded by family...
Unfortunately, that's not the case for everyone. You can say what you want about Rachael Ray's "cuisine," and believe me, I have, but she's inspiring and empowering people to actually cook--to prepare meals for their families and sit down together. And that, I think, is more important than whether or not you're sitting down to a "hot dog casserole."

woah cool! I've been looking forward to the announcement ever since that teaser a few weeks (months?) ago

I think that's daytime Rachel Ray, no need for cable for that, it's on abc or something.
Congratulations, that is really cool.

Wow Adam! Congrats!! Now don't go all Hollywood on us. And please don't start calling sandwiches "sammies."

Oh gawd, is that Rachael Ray, the most annoying woman in television? There goes the neighborhood...

No, no, no. Next you'll be extolling the genius that is Sandra Lee...

Sorry. Rachel Ray is appalling. Taking an AG break for awhile. yick.

I should add that this makes all the marketing business sense in the world... As a fan of your site, I just hope it's "only" an interview.

Huh? Maybe I'm the only one, but I don't think that looks like Rachel Ray at all.

I'm with mauritius on this one: that just doesn't look like Rachel Ray at all. I think you people need to clean your monitors.

Good luck and Congratulations!
