Ah, Adam, has it really been 4 years? Thanks so much for the laughs, the funny videos, the controversy, and your redoubtable self.

  6. Congratulations! I wonder if you realize how many people you have surely affected in the course of 4 years with your writing, humor and well… humanness. Heck, reading and enjoying your blog is part of what encouraged me to go through with starting my own. For that, I thank you. And I wish you all the success another 4 years (at minimum)can hold.

  7. Shelby says:

Congratulations! I wish you only the best for four (or forty) more years of food and fun!

  11. I’m back. Wish I could add this to my original post as a P.S., but here we go anyway.

I got to thinking about the reality of 4 years and wondering what one thing stands out to you as the most valuable lesson you’ve taken from them. Your answer may not necessarily be about blogging or writing, could be about people, life, whatever.

So there’s my question. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from the past four years?

  12. zeep says:

    Onwards and upwards Adam!!

  13. Brooke says:

Congratulations! Here’s to FOUR YEARS! I don’t think I’ve read a funnier, more creative blog in all the years I’ve been reading food blogs! You definitely inspire!

I look forward to reading you in all the years to come!

  14. Brooke says:

  16. Brooke says:

Sorry! My browser said that your site was busy and that I wasn’t posting (and I was!) You certainly deserve the abundant praise, but really…that’s over doing it, Brooke. :)

  17. gretchen says:

Wait. You wrote the Elements of Cooking? Did I miss something?

  24. Helen Jane says:

Thanks for all your work the past 4 years! Your creativity is an inspiration.

  25. gretchen says:

Thanks for the clarification. Usually I get your humor, so who knows what synapse misfired there! Anyway, I’ve been reading for almost all four years–since you were a law student and I was a law student, and now I’m living in New York and working as a lawyer and you’re living in New York and working as a food writer, so you definitely win :) Congratulations on building and sustaining such a lovely, entertaining blog.

  26. Rosa says:

Congratulations! Keep up with the great work!

    Cheers,

    Rosa

  27. Matt L says:

You also forgot to mention that you were the inspiration behind Al Green’s 1971 hit “Let’s Stay Together”, the reason for Liza and David’s divorce, AND the shooter on the grassy knoll.

  28. Lydia says:

Congrats, Adam. Here’s to four more years!

  29. Steven says:

Congratulations! I love reading your blog. Now take Britney Spears off the banner. Seriously. Do it.

  30. David says:

Happy anniversary, and glad that Britney took some time away from her busy schedule to help you celebrate.

Come back to Paris so you can get a better picture of me for next year’s round-up…

  31. Hillary says:

Adam – Congratulations on four amazing years! You’re definitely one of my favorites so keep up the great work!

Congrats on your first term, Adam! You still definitely have my vote:-)

  34. Val says:

Congratulations Adam!! Here’s to another four!!! Great work! :-)

  35. Ayomide! says:

Congratualation! This is a bit late, as I’m only just now checking my RSS feed reader. I adore your blog, and hope you have another 4 wonderful years of content and cooking!

  36. Brilynn says:

I so enjoy your comic book posts!

Congrats on 4 years Adam, that’s quite an accomplishment.

  37. slibboth says:

Congrats on 4 fine years – awaiting the day you join the Park Slope Food Coop with baited breath. As a hardcore home cook I manage to rally once a month for a hellish Saturday afternoon shift. The food (produce) and the prices are worth it. Imagine vegetables that are still fresh a week (sometimes longer) after you buy them… no lie!

  38. mimi says:

    Congratulations!!!!

  39. Congratulations! I’ve been a fan for a long time and continue to get a chuckle from your funny posts (and a growling tummy from your cooking ones!).
