The gentleman who presented the lyrics is an actor. He was a key character in Steve Martin's romantic comedy called "LA Story" (one of my favorite movies).
He played the former husband of the woman who was the main love interest of Steve's character. The woman was played by Victoria Tennant, (whom I beleive Steve was married to for a short while), and the other woman of the foursome was played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Oh yeah and Marilou Henner was in the movie too. The movie has lots of great "only in Los Angeles!" moments--well worth renting the DVD, I think.
If you would be so kind as to post the elapsed time which any given YouTube show might take, that would give the rest of us who haven't watched it a reasonable assessment as to whether or not we might invest this time, that would be very helpful.
You know?
Thanks,
Tana
P.S. I can't believe that Holy Shitake in your links forgot that extra "i".
"Shitake" is just one consonant from "spit take" (let the young children among you, without black and white film upbringings, Google "spit take" and, oh, "Friar's Roast").
Shiitake.
I, for one, am happy to see Ms. Patricia Wells' Trattoria in your ads. And I would love to know what you cooked from that.
Oh my goodness that was... simply goodness. I love Elton even more than ever. He was so friggin' good in that clip. However, I know one improv-pianist who could show Elton up in any random-lyric competition: Adam Roberts. It's true, y'all. Adam could kick Elton's ass. I say WE challenge the AG to play a recipe!! C'mon, AG... we double dare you!!
(oh, and I think I saw Kathleen Turner in the audience... did anyone else spot her too?)
Richard E. Grant and Sandra Bernhard appeared together in the 1991 movie "Hudson Hawk." I only remember this because the movie got such baaaaaad reviews, but evidently they became friends
