Yesterday was a wild success for Pim and all the folks behind Menu For Hope III. Check out the donation page if you don’t believe me. UE20: Serious Eats, Dinner For Four with Wine at Mozza in L.A. “The new Nancy Silverton-Mario Batali pizzeria in Los Angeles. You’ve read about it in the papers and on the blogs. Maybe you’ve tried to get in but haven’t had any luck. Serious Eats is offering a dinner for four here, with wine paired to whatever pies you might choose.”

UE21: The Food Section, The Oxford Companion To Food. “Oxford University Press has generously donated a copy of the Oxford Companion to Food ($65) towards Menu for Hope III. Originally edited by food historian Alan Davidson and published in 1999, the second edition of this massive culinary reference book was just released this past October under the editorship of food writer Tom Jaine. The new edition, clocking in at 976 pages, includes more than 70 new entries — from “molecular gastronomy” to “doggy bags” (not to mention “paper-bag cookery”).”

UE22: Ruhlman.com, A Signed Copy of Charcuterie. “I will donate a signed and personalized limited, much sought after 5th edition of Charcuterie, the one with new recipes.”

UE23: The Sour Dough, Box of LA Burdick’s Chocolate signature mice. According to L.A. Burdick, “Our chocolate mice, a whimsical and delicious gift in our classic wood box holding chocolate mice in three flavors:dark with an orange interior, milk with a mocha interior and white with a cinnamon interior. The mice all have almond ears and tails of silk.”

UE24: Sassy Radish, 18 Chocolates from Kee’s and A Year’s Subscription to Donna Hay. “I am donating a box of 18 chocolates from one of my favorite artisanal chocolatiers, Kee’s Chocolates, as well as a year’s subscription to Donna Hay cooking magazine, my recent affectation.”
