I Am a Movie Star

Last summer a documentary filmmaker asked me if I would star in a small video for a new website called NYCFilms. I met him in SoHo and he shot footage of me eating food from carts (his idea!) which took a few hours. And then much much time passed (I mean seriously: almost a year) and I was like: "Did I dream that last summer I went around SoHo eating street food for a video or did that really happen?" And then today I got an e-mail: the site is up and so is the video. So here's the site--NYCFilms (it's a spiffy site, the videos are really cool)--and here's the direct link to the video. I'm a star! Hope you enjoy.

Alright Adam, the films you produce are much better. I certainly prefer your choice of music and usage of techniques, such as rapid advancement of the film speed. Overall, you did well as the actor. Kudos!

You are adorable, and congrats on the "advancement"! Very cool indeed.

Los Angeles needs less Star Map stands and more food served from carts. I wonder if they make any "drive up" carts??? hhmmmmmmm....

you should take the oscar, especially for your almond performance. brilliant, i say!

Hey there, just wanted to let you know in case you weren't told, but you madeit into the Food & Wine section of the Seattle Times yesterday! Congrats! :)

Sorry for the above horrible punctuation - I was trying to multi-task. That'll learn me!

*Love* the almond bit. Styrofoam! Boarding school...the prison! Priceless. Good job! A shame you didn't get to eat anything good though.

damn, man. you are a famous food blogger. that rules.

I agree, your films are much better, but I must say, I really want a pretzel now. You just can't get them here in Chicago. Carts are practically unheard of here, as are good soft pretzels. Ahh, the downsides of being away from the east coast for school :(

Oh lovely... now I want a dipped cone.

thanksalot.

So let me get this straight: the almond went to boarding school, then it went to war, then came home, and somehow became drenched in honey-sweet goodness?

EXCELLENT!

I second Nina, you were adorable in that movie. Made me want to get some "cart food", but alas, like Lisa I too live in Chicago. Guess I'll have to wait for Taste of Chicago. :)

Thanks, Adam! Congratulations on your film debut. :)

I love the carts by the Holland Tunnel that say they deliver to cars stuck in traffic. Nearly got me to buy a pretzel.

Did you ever get a knish or a bagel off a cart?

I really enjoyed watching your movie and it make me hungry too. You did a very good job, don't know how many takes it took but you are a natural on the camera. I enjoy reading your blog.

You are too cute.

By far the best part is the metaphor involving war and the honey roasted almonds. You were adorable throughout.

You are pretty funny, esp the analogy that you talked about when describing the almonds :-)
