Celebrity Comments

A few days ago, on my non-food-related sidebar “On The Side” I wrote a review of the new documentary “The White Diamond” by Werner Herzog. I wrote the review hastily (but not necessarily thoughtlessly) and that was that. Imagine my surprise, then, this morning when I read a comment from the subject of the film himself: Dr. Dorrington. I suppose Dr. D found the review by googling “The White Diamond” (my review pops up fifth) but it really kind of floored me. Here’s this figure I spent 90 minutes watching on the screen–a remarkable person who builds hot-air balloons and flies them over the rain forest–posting a comment on the website of someone who bakes cupcakes with sock puppets. The power of the web indeed!
