Gingerbread is the beer of the cake world: Either you like it or you don’t.
That’s probably not the best analogy.
I love gingerbread. It reminds me of being a little girl in my grandmother’s kitchen. I love the flavor and I love the way it makes the house smell. It tastes best when it’s been warmed just a little with a smear of butter on top.
Unfortunately my family hates it so I never make it. Maybe I’ll make myself a little treat this Thanksgiving and just freeze the leftovers in batches or something…
