Happy Bring Your Gourmet To Work Day!
June 9, 2004 | By Adam Roberts | 5 CommentsOk, so today’s the day! I hope each and every one of you worked hard to prepare something special for work. If not Pasta, Pesto and Peas, then something… And if you forgot, it’s not too late! Just go somewhere different, somewhere interesting. Today’s the day to treat your stomach to something special. Doesn’t she deserve it? I think she does. And, of course, report all goings-on here. I want to hear how YOU celebrate your Bring Your Gourmet To Work Day! (I’ve really GOT to stop using exclamation marks…)

So stomachs are now officially feminine? Hmmm…I always thought mine was masculine, just becuase it’s never satisfied. Heh. Sorry.
Gourmet? Possibly. I had a delicious puff pastry quiche yesterday for dinner with a side of fried polenta. Yum. Left-overs for lunch today…recipe to be posted on my site this week.
Is it really gourmet if I swipe my boyfriend’s leftovers of chorizo penne from the fridge for lunch? It is in a lovely tomato cream sauce.
Today I brought fish tacos for lunch. The filling consists of tilapia with onions and tomatoes and garlic, seasoned with cumin, cinnamon, and lime. Oh, and cilantro. (I also brought a wee little Tupperware container with chipotle sour cream to top them off.)
In fact, I think I’ll go have lunch right now. :)
I went south of the border today – well, not literally. I drove down the street to Willy’s and indulged in my favorite guilty pleasure, their grilled pollo burrito filled with everything but the kitchen sink. Queso, frijoles, arroz, guacamole y cilantro salsa. Muy delicioso!
I didn’t have time to cook anything but was inspired by your call to action, so I eschewed my usual tuna/egg salad sandwich for once. I went to Caffe Midtown and got a panini with roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and baby arugula. It came with an arugula and raddicchio salad. It was pretty yummy, though somewhat expensive for lunch.
